Defence and other Australian Government agencies can now more readily access IMC’s extensive naval architecture, marine engineering and project management capabilities following the company’s successful application for membership of SME Gateway.
One of the largest Australian-owned ‘Professional Services Providers’ in the Defence and the Government Contracting sectors, SME Gateway enables direct access between its members and government panels including the Defence Materiel Organisation Support Services (DMOSS) panel. It also provides the supporting contract infrastructure that enables small to medium enterprises (SMEs) like IMC to satisfy government contracting requirements without excessive cost.
“IMC has extensive experience working with international defence and government agencies and we are keen to expand this to include the Department of Defence Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG),” explained Bill Hicks, IMC’s Commercial Manager.
Mr Hicks said the company’s track record includes the full design of two offshore patrol vessels (OPV) built under a foreign military sales contract for the Iraqi Navy (read more), as well as acquisition management services for a number Government newbuilding projects including police boats and research vessels.
“These projects have covered the full spectrum of program support from requirements definition, conceptual design and technical specification development, through bid evaluation and contractor selection, to build supervision and owner’s representation services,” he said.
IMC's extensive references include tender Assistance / Evaluation and Construction Supervision for the 32 metre offshore patrol vessel Nemesis
